I didn`t see this thread in time but if I had I would have predicted a Manchester United win (honest guv!), though I doubt I would have got it at 4-0.
Here`s the match report-
The gap at the top was down to three as Manchester Untied kicked off, Arsenal having clawed their way from behind to a 3-2 win. However, there was no such fuss at Old Trafford as the Red Devils set about destroying Villa.
Ronaldo duly gave them an early lead as he controlled a ball with his back towards a goal, and back-heeled it in through his marker's legs and past a surprised Scott Carson.
He then set up Carlos Tevez with a spectacular cross, the Argentine heading in to make it 2-0. The third was also a piece of magic from the winger as he back-heeled a cross into Wayne Rooney's path, the striker calmly rounding Carson and slorring in.
Sir Alex Ferguson knew the points were in the bag, and made all three changes at the hour mark in preparation for Roma. However, the surge continued, Ronaldo once again setting up Rooney as United added salt to Villa's wounds.
Rooney had plenty of chances to complete his hat-trick, but had one goal correctly ruled out for offside, and fired wide on a couple of occasions. However, that was merely anecdotal as the Red Devils sent a warning to the domestic and European challengers.
