Former manager Steve McClaren believes that Fabio Capello is the right man to revive England's fortunes.
The Italian was named as his successor in December after the ex-Middlesbrough boss was sacked by the FA for failing to qualify for Euro 2008.
And McClaren feels the former Real Madrid, Roma and AC Milan man has the "perfect CV" for the demanding role.
"I think he has all the experience, has worked with top players and is ready for it," he told BBC Radio 5 Live.

He is the right age, has the right amount of experience, and I think he will be a success."
There has been criticism of the FA's decision to appoint a foreigner, and McClaren feels it is important for the Italian to adapt.
He said: "I think he will be a success as long as he grasps the English culture and English mentality and how England win games.
"The key thing is that this is the perfect time to come in.
"He has seven months to prepare and look at the players before the campaign starts again for World Cup qualification."

I share your sentiment about using and English man for the job, but tell me which of the English men who has been England's manager in the last say 20 years has taken the club to any meaningful position in International competition? THe only one that comes to mind is Sir Bobby Robson and that was a long time ago.

I just want England to success, wether its managed by English man or a Japanese man.

Temi,

If Fabio Capello utilizes the same squad of players in which Stevie McClaren had to work with, which I believe are the best squad of English players at the moment at Capello's disposal. If they don't succeed it only tells me one thing and that is the England team players of today are great individuals but when pulled together as a unit they can't work with each other.

I am sure Capello will not use the same player, he will use many of the same McLaren uses but he will use them differently, that is where the skills of a manager come in.
Anyway, fingers crossed.
