Microsoft online music move spoils the party for Apple

Microsoft has said it is considering developing a subscription-based online music service.
The firm's confirmation of a report on techology news website Cnet sent shares in online music providers RealNetworks and Napster down on Friday.

Shares in Apple, home of both the iPod portable music player and the iTunes online music store, also lost ground.

They should make it a part of the new OS so each customer gets unlimited music downloads for the first few months and then a discount on membership from then on.
