Lately I have noticed a great amount of traffic for my site coming from mobile phones ipads etc... I do have a mobile version of my site (.mob), however I was wondering, is there an SEO practice available to get better rankings in SERP's for mobile searches?

Not for general rankings, no. But Google Local becomes increasingly important with mobile browsing and there are some different/additional things you may need to rank well there.

I agree with minstrel. There's not much going on for mobile websites if you are targeting for any ranking.
