Need Advice; LinkShare Trying to Not Pay Me!!

I made a $50 commission back on 25 OCT last year, and LinkShare's been giving me the runaround about it because, apparently, they themselves weren't paid by the advertiser, who's since closed up their affiliate program entirely. But I thought that payments were guaranteed, that that's how come LinkShare only pays a month after the sale is credited, to ensure that they get paid....

Anyway, any advice for a newbie would be very much appreciated!!!

Sorry I've never worked with Linkshare so don't know.

And oddly even though they are a big network, they seldom come up here so I don't think many of our affiliates work with them.
