I recommend Linux Redhat Servers with CPanel + Fantastico Scripts installed.
These are very reliable and easy to install as well as use.

Windows hosting will generally be a little more expensive, as the licensing fee of the server operating system has to be paid to Microsoft. Linux, on the other hand, is open source (free) so there is no additional charge for the server's operating system. It's also generally thought of to be more stable. For most people starting out with a small website Linux-based hosting is fine. (if your pages end with .asp you'll need Windows-based, if they end in .htm or .html or .php choose Linux-based hosting)

If your websites are developed using using ASP, FrontPage, ASP.NET environment, Windows Streaming Media, Access, MS SQL Server, or any of the other Microsoft’s owned technologies then you should opt for Windows hosting. Otherwise, Linux hosting should be fine for you :)

Windows hosting packages are expensive as Windows operating system requires licensing fee, whereas, Linux operating system is free of cost. Hence, Linux hosting packages are priced at a cheaper rate :applause:

Hope this helps....

Linux hosting platform is always suggested as it is considered to be more secured and is compatible with most of the applications and software's available in the computer/internet industry :)
