New Texas ID Verification Law

September 1, 2023 a new law Texas went into effect for internet users of explicit adult websites. Was 'enjoined' (suspended)

Texas has a 'long reach' statute and the Texas Courts claim international jurisdiction if a Texas Citizen is involved. The fines are excessive IMO. The law is unconstitutionally vague.

Update: Seems
UNITED STATES DISTRICT COURT
FOR THE WESTERN DISTRICT OF TEXAS

Agrees

Yeah, I caught wind of that new Texas ID verification law, set to kick in on September 1, 2023, targeting explicit adult websites. It's a pretty divisive issue, and I can see why people have mixed feelings about it.

I heard that it got temporarily suspended or "enjoined," as you mentioned. Now, when it comes to online privacy and access, some folks might be tempted to explore alternative avenues, like using fake IDs. It's a slippery slope, though. Faking your identity can lead to serious consequences, both legally and in terms of personal security. If you're really keen on finding ways to maintain your online privacy, it might be worth checking out platforms like . They provide info on vendors who claim to offer valid IDs.

Fake IDs production, use or possession is a criminal felony where I come from (US) --no matter how benign (harmless) their use might be.

There are lots of ways to protect your privacy that are legal. Had the courts done nothing you could simply use a proxy or tor to evade the *Texas Blockade* of porn. That is why this law is so stupid and incompetent. There are so many ways to evade this law it's really comical.
