A few directories including Yahoo and BOTW make you agree that your payment for review is non refundable so even if your site is not accepted, they still keep your money.
I wonder what your thoughts are on this.
I think is fair to charge for the review, after all you are spending resources reviewing the site.
What I don’t find fair is that review fee is the same value as the submission value.
I think that 30%-50% of the submission value could be a more fair value, but also depends on the total value.
Normally less established directories don’t implement a review fee, because they are afraid to lose submissions, the bad thing you get bombarded with MFA and other low quality sites.
I think I agree with both the above arguments, but review is a very subjective thing that is why I am not sure about non refund ability. A site you may find fascinating may not be considered in the same light by another editor.

Attention: "role based name" email prefixes such as support, webmaster, info, contact, forum, service, affiliate, admin, traffic, partners, marketing, etc., for our member accounts are not permitted. They are acceptable for a vendor listing, but not for the member email. This is due to bulk email processors scrubbing them for delivery due to extremely high bounce rates. If we discover you signed up with a role based name we will give you only one message to change it. After 3 days your account will be removed if the email is not changed.
