Omnisio to add extra functions to YouTube

Google has bought 'Omnisio' a web video editing firm based in Palo Alto, California - which will be used to add extra functions to YouTube.

Ominisio allows you to edit video clips and add captions and slide shows to footage. The company, which only launched publicly at the end of March, was backed by seed funding investor Y Combinator.

Here's the announcement by Ominisio about being acquired by Google.

We are thrilled to announce that we've been acquired by Google and will soon be joining the YouTube team, aligning us with the market leaders in online video. Together we'll apply what we've learned about the space, and we'll work to develop innovative products and features for the YouTube community.
