PayPal sided with Reseller who didnt honor money back guarantee

I bought a product online, CPA Profit Machine (ebook), sometime in May of this year using PayPal. It came with a 30-day money back guarantee, no questions asked. As is the case, I discovered that the product wasn't good and was just filled with information on how to use a particular ad network (Admaven). Some of the info was even lifted off of an existing material. So I asked the seller for a refund which he refused. This was before the 30 day money back guarantee expired. I escalated this to PayPal, but PayPal sadly sided with the seller. I would like to ask if this practice of misleading claims being tolerated by PayPal?

The guarantee was not 'satisfaction guaranteed'
In fact, that 'guarantee' was worthless weasel words.
Sure, the so called Guarantee is misleading ...

But it did state clearly that it carried a money back guarantee within 30 days of purchase. Really disappointed with PayPal.

Selling ebooks that tell you how to make a bazillion dollars by using one particular vendor, be it an affiliate network, program or ad site, was used quite a bit back circa 2010 and earlier, as I recall. You don't find that out usually though, until you've already purchased the book. I remember seeing a lot of those types advertised (and complained about) in marketing forums.

I recall seeing some people giving them away for free, just to get signups under them in networks/programs.

Yeah, not all marketers are 'white hat' and ethical. I have no idea about the one you bought the book from, he might be fine or not. I think refunding ebooks is something both seller and PP are leery of, since people can just read or copy the book then ask for their money back, essentially getting the product for free.

If there's even one thing you can glean from it, take that info and move on. If there's nothing in there for you, move on.

Thankfully, the price wasn't higher, just $17 and a lesson learned.

Just FYI, you can find info, ask questions, and get help as you run a campaign here - for free. :)
