PBN related question - keep original niche or not?

Hi,
just wondering if there are any PBN experts here?
I'm newbie with PBN, will appreciate if anyone can help me with this question:

What I have
- I have money site in a financial niche.
- I have 20 domains with good metrics to build my PBN, but they are in different niches (can't find financial dropped or auction domains).
- I already have a lot of good financial content for this PBN.

Question
What is better:
1. Create 20 small sites with financial content
2. Try to keep original niche of the each site and just add 1 financial article on every site with backlink to my money site
What will work better?

*I prefer to use #1 cause I already have content, but having doubt if this is the best option.

I would go for #2 in this particular case, especially if the sites are already crawled and indexed by search engines.
