The US defence department has banned the giant internet search engine Google from filming inside and making detailed studies of US military bases. Yes its true i have seen Something51 & Yes, maybe possibly i or i know of someone that have the hacked GMap link showing you ALL aspects

Close-up, ground-level imagery of US military sites posed a "potential threat" to security, it said. The move follows the discovery of images of the Fort Sam Houston army base in Texas on Google Maps.

A Google spokesman said that where the US military had expressed concerns, images had been removed.

Any way more at the BBC

Resonate, this is old news for we who track Google movements. Post 911, a lot of fury was going on here in the United States. Our local news was showing the downtown NY skyline on Google. The US government passed a law that not only military installations but also schools, airports, government buildings and large arenas will not be displayed in Google Maps. It has made navigating in California more difficult because of the number of airports, schools and government buildings we have in the greater Los Angeles area.

eeeeekkkkk!!!!!!

So what the **** is this link i got. i will pm it tho you tomorrow, got to hunt it down in my 76000+ un organized bookmarks

I would be happy to see it. I would be careful with the link if it is valid. Our CIA are good at tracking those things down. I would hate to send you a file in a cake in the IRON BAR HOTEL.

I hate to be cynical here. But, surely they must realise that spy satellites and other modern technological gadgetry must mean that the nations who want to find that sort of detailed information can easily do so.

How do you keep a military base hidden to the world, yet Google are able to map it? It doesn`t seem logical.

If the US can detect installations on foreign territory I suspect others can do exactly the same on US soil. The Russians have probably got more info on America than America has on itself. lol

I know this is slightly off topic but it goes in with the 'we're boring and no fun' theme of the americans.

Apparently its a law that you can't make fun of the government. I'm sorry but if the US government can't stand up to a bit of a joke at their expense then they shouldn't be in office! Wimps! My friends mums american and she can't stomach shows like HIGNFG!

Americans do like to make a fuss!

You are right, "NATIONS" do have spy satellites, lots of them. I do not doubt that Russia, China, Korea and Israel have loads of information on secure areas of the United States. Nations tend to be more responsible with their actions. It was not nations that used the GPS info from Google and fly a few airplanes "to no return" it was irresponsible individual groups, not nations. By The Way, I have a sense of humor most of the time.

Resonate did you find that link?
