Proof of backlinks from PPC in organic search?

According to Search Engine Watch, PPC ads are appearing in organic search.

This would make sense from a revenue point of view but its integrity would be badly compromised if this practice is widespread.

I thought PPC links won't count into backlinks. SO, Now I need to re think about it

I would look at some of the comments posted on this article to see if it is being applied universally. I rather suspect not.

I read this somewhere else. I think it's pretty sick if you ask me if this is really true. Though personally, I haven't seen anything of the sort as of yet.
