Remember When You Liked Getting Email?

Remember when it was a big deal to get an email? I saw a marketing video
that mentioned this fact, and that AOL used their "You Got Mail!" sound
every time you got a message. Then the video went on to say that today,
with the tons of messages we get, that sound would drive us crazy! The
video had that sound file play repetitive during this part, and I was LOL.

So do you remember how cool you thought you were because someone sent you an email?

a long long long time ago yeh I do - but annoyingly they were all forwards! Now I dread getting emails. I've developed a fear that someones gonna have a go at me for something - and they usually are. Its getting kind of annoying to tell the truth but meh!

It was like when you first gat a fax machine and marveled at the way it printed on that curly paper. Getting an email was exciting before spam.

I am still excited whenever there is a message from PayPal or some of my affiliate accounts with the "new sale" or "payment" in the subject line...

You never know the number it will show...

I still get excited! I always have to drop whatever I do (be it work/play/surgery) whenever I get a popup saying that I have a new message. I HAVE to read it! I only get excited when I get mail first thing in the morning, most likely because I'm still half asleep then.

Funnily enough though, when I don't get any mail for hours and hours, I kind of worry why I don't get any. :
