SEO and business

It is and it isn't.
Before all the SEO 'gurus' appear in this thread

If you are a real business: You have startup capital to buy your ads at the top of search.
If you are looking to get free organic traffic you will be working forever to get it and keep it.

SEO is more important for a business once it has shown it has real value to offer.

Now Google your title and expect to spend days reading all the dated SEO BS --welcome to the internet!

It's not really important anymore nowadays. If you want to be at the top of the search rankings just buy the keyword from Google Ads.

Maybe there's some use with blog posts? If you're trying to rank on reviews, comparisons etc.

do you operate a business?
Yup, multiple.
Costs us more money to outrank our competitors through SEO than the costs of simply advertising on Google on those specific keywords. Might be different in other verticals though!

so you are saying SEO is not important to your business
not that SEO is not important to all businesses

There are a number of reasons why SEO is important to businesses. First and foremost, organic search is one of the most important sources of website traffic. In fact, according to a study by Chitika, organic search traffic accounted for 34 percent of all website traffic in 2013.

Second, SEO is an effective way to generate leads and convert them into sales. A study by Conductor found that businesses that rank in the top three positions for their keywords receive 67 percent of all clicks. And finally, SEO is a cost-effective marketing tactic. According to research by Forrester, SEO generates more than twice as many leads as paid search on average.

SEO is def a crucial aspect of any biz these days. It's all about maximizing your online visibility and reach, so potential customers can easily find you. That's why it's crucial to invest in a solid SEO strategy. When it comes to improving your SEO, you can do a ton of things, like building high-quality backlinks. One tool I've come across that can help with that is Crowdo Links. They offer a range of backlink-building services to help take your SEO to the next level. But of course, it's always a good idea to do your own research and find what works best for you and your biz!

Call it essential, crucial, or of paramount importance for a business to succeed - it doesn't matter - SEO is a factor that makes a difference, and we can agree on that. The top three Google search results get 54.4% of all clicks, according to statistics. On-page and off-page SEO techniques combined do give results when done properly. Whether we talk about page titles, meta descriptions, internal linking or backlinks, outreach, guest posting - you can't just do it without a plan. There has to be a strategy developed for a particular business with a million things to take into account (how many links are they currently acquiring per month, has any work been done on improving click-through rates, potential keyword cannibalization issues...). A complex process behind it that most skip looking for shortcuts. This is why I'm reading that for example, guest posting doesn't work. Well, use PBNs and questionable domains and of course it won't give results. Or some hilarious email campaigns: "Hello, dears, I am a professional link builder. This is my client's website ***. You can check the site quality is very good and I have also checked your site quality is low." I wish I was making this up, but it's an actual quote. But this is just funny, the real problem remains - those who make tempting promises, counting on entrepreneurs not knowing a lot about SEO. The Wild West indeed.

Well its important because you can get targeted clients if you rank in first positions and dont need to pay money compared to ads where you need to pay money everyday

I agree with the rest of the comments highlighting the importance of paid ads - without them, you might end up wasting a lot of time for nothing and perhaps get discouraged in the process. That doesn't mean that climbing the SERPs ladder without spending too much is entirely impossible, though. It depends on the niche, the existence of a network of collaborators, the freshness of the content., etc. Another necessity IMO is to approach things with the correct market segmentation strategy. Sometimes it's more important to make the right move at just the right moment than to keep on investing and casting a wider net. For example, there are apps that can automate the process of creating urgency for an abandoned cart, diverting the consumer's attention when needed. Web push notifications are another smart move that can indeed boost ROI

In short, search engine optimization (SEO) is essential because it increases the visibility of your website, which results in increased traffic and opportunities to acquire customers. It brings in organic traffic to your website, which in turn brings in more customers and leads, which in turn brings in more sales and growth for your company.

SEO helps your website rank higher in search engine results pages (SERPs). When potential customers search for products or services related to your business, a strong SEO strategy ensures that your website appears at or near the top. This increased visibility can lead to more organic traffic and potential customers.

SEO is crucial for businesses for a multitude of reasons, especially in the current digital landscape. Let's break down some of the key points:
1. Visibility: When you optimize your site for SEO, you're essentially making it easier for search engines to find you. This increases the chances of your website appearing on the first page of search engine results, thus capturing more eyeballs.
2. Credibility: Ranking higher gives you more credibility. People often trust the first few websites that show up in a search result.
3. Traffic Quality: SEO helps you attract a more targeted audience. Instead of just getting any traffic, you're drawing in visitors genuinely interested in your products or services.
One great way to keep track of your SEO performance is using an . It's a tool that can give you real-time metrics on everything from keyword rankings to website speed and backlink profiles, so you can see where you need to improve.
