Speaking characters at websites

There are this funny speaking characters at websites, I absolutely hate them. Do they add value to websites or make some people buy stuff from the website?

I also HATE them. Especially when I listen some music and since I open more tabs at the same time I find myself in the situation of not knowing what the hell is happening to my computer:wallbash:

They are so annoying! If I can not find how to turn them off within 3-5 seconds - I am gone!

Bloody annoying - see them on sites and walk away.

I have seen them being used on directories recently (can't remember the url as left site real quick). Why why why would any directory owner want to use this on a directory?

Yes, I wonder why any sane person be it directory owner or regular site owner install those blasted annoying things

Sitepal - just remebered what the name of this service was.

She is really annoying. They should put her in a rarar skirt and make her bounce all of your website! Her voice also isn't one you want to listen to.

the INSTANT someone starts talking to me from a site I leave. It is probably the most unprofessional addition anyone can make to a site!
