Submitting my company blog

Hello everyone. I am new in this whole blogging, forum and marketing industry. I have started up a company blog online however I know nothing about blogging. Does anyone have any good ideas or good places that we should be submitting our company blog to and if so, what are some other necessary steps to take in order to get the right kind of traffic to where it helps the average overall visitor to where they are getting atleast something from the site for free.
