Super Bowl Excitement

The time for Super Bowl 42 is getting very close. Many of us are anticipating the battle between the New England Patriots and the New York Giants. There is a chance this could be the most watched Super Bowl in history due to the fact that the Patriots could complete an undefeated season with a Super Bowl victory.

No matter who wins, I just want it to be a good game.

The big game also gives a lot of us an excuse to eat a lot of food. My Super Bowl balanced meal will be:

Hamburgers
Ice Cream
Cheeze-It
Pizza
Chili
Macaroni and cheese
Biscuits
Spam sandwiches
Potato Chips
Milk

I am getting hungry just thinking about that great food and thirsty thinking about the milk.

I will still be around 5 Star during the game and my food feast.

I am just hoping for an exciting game. I think the Giants defense will give Tom Brady fits but he seems to have a way of finding victory.

My SuperBowl menu is somewhat different as I will be watching at 5 or 6am. Thailand is 12 hours ahead of EST. During the course of the season if I wanted to watch the games live I had to go to bed early on Sunday night and get up at 1am during daylight saving time and midnight when reverted to standard time.

I want it to be a very good game just as most others do. But the Super Bowl also has a few other things going for it that aren't present in the regular season games.

There is the entertainment prior to the game and the big half-time show.

Then there are the commercials. They are very expensive, but many of the advertisers have special Super Bowl commericials that are a lot different, more interesting and more humorous than their normal commercials. Some people actually look forward to these commercials. So the commercial might provide some relief during a less than exciting game. But I know I'm not going to be watching just to see the commercials.

The thing that always bothers me when it comes to the Super Bowl is wondering if the game is going to be competitive. Sometimes it is and other times it becomes a one-sided game and not very much fun to watch. I hope this one turns out to be an exciting game.

Doh... I don't even know what time it's on. Let me know so I can go run some errands while everyone else is glued to TV. :D

Linda, I'm not surprised that you don't know this since you aren't a sports fan.

I will do this in California time so it will be easy for you.

There is a very long pregame show that goes on almost forever. It is on right now. But the main interest will be the game itself.

California scheduled kickoff time according to the National Football League (NFL) is 3:18 pm

With all that goes on, including the extended halftime in order to present the halftime spectacular, you could be looking at up to a total of 4 hours for the telecast itself.

Edit: There was a lot going on before the kickoff and the actual kickoff was at 3:31pm, California time.

Perfecto, thanks Larry. I need to go get a prescription filled and glasses fixed around 3 so hopefully the drug store and Lenscrafters will both be dead.

Plus it's been storming here pretty bad all day, so most wimpy Californians who are spoiled by our nearly constant good weather, will be staying inside too.

Linda is out running errands and I'm watching the Super Bowl, but with all of the commercials it is very easy to watch what is going on here in the forums during the game.

It is halftime now and the New England Patriots are leading the New York Giants by a score of 7 to 3. So far it is the nice close game that so many of us wanted to see.

Two minute warning 14-10 Pats, no commercials here. Get to see what goes on, and what the commentators are talking about when they break for commercials.

And Linda's back after making a nice touchdown at Walmart.

Every place I went was super light on people and no one on the roads. How nice! It's so quiet around here you'd think the Chargers were in the playoffs. :D

So who won? Was it a good game???

The game has just ended. It was an exciting game. The New York Giants defeated the New England Patriots 17 to 14.

Football fans were treated to a good Super Bowl Game. The New England Patriots were unable to complete their perfect season and the 1972 Miami Dolphins remain as the only team in NFL history to go all the way through the Super Bowl without a defeat.

This is a game which would have had people watching until the very end. It was a very good game.

On top of that, everyone was good during the game here at 5 Star and there were no spammers during the game.

The food was great. I enjoy the food even when there is a bad Super Bowl game. It really is a good excuse to eat a lot.

Tomorrow I will do a little more exercising and not eat as much in order to try to make up for making a pig of myself today.

I will be curious to see what the television ratings are for the game. Because it was a tight game and was still in doubt in the final seconds, I am sure it did very well.

The experts were picking the New England Patriots to win. As far as what was best for good ratings through the entire games, this was what was considered perfect ahead of time. The New York Giants were leading late in the game with New England still having a chance to win.

For most people their favorite team didn't make it into the Super Bowl. But there is always next year.

It was an excellent game. I'm glad the underdogs won. And even more glad that it wasn't a blowout. Of course, I was semi-watching the game as I did the laundry and updated some of my sites.
