The only answer i can think of is that the virus coders are not targeting apple operating systems? I would think that most virus's code is based on Windows Operating systems because they have the largest market share. I would not be surprised if someone designed a virus for macs one day.
I've been using Macs for well over 10 years now - I had a virus once back in OS8.6 or OS9 days. I'm sure they still exist now if you look hard enough for them.
The reason why a virus that effects a PC won't effect a Mac is down to it being a piece of software...Macs & PCs use different types of software & won't work on each other without an emulator of some sort.
There are apple virus, it's just because most of the people on mac don't use illegal software (that's where come most of the viruses, windows / linux or mac)
