Hi, I'm a newcomer here.
I'm going to setup a wordpress themes site, which offers free download of my original designed themes. The site is built with wordpress. Before launching it, I did following things to make it as good as possible:
1. I did SEO, the site has several different categories, which has different meta information (description, keywords, etc.) from others, so do the pages like "about us", "terms of use", etc.
2. I think a demo site is necessary, then the themes can be more impressive.
3. I made a list after checked many themes submission sites. And plan to submit mine on them.
4. Make more good designs, code them well and compatible with the latest version of wordpress and compliant with the web standards, test them many times to avoid bugs. I think this the most important part. Right now I've done more than 10 themes.
There are some more to do after the site is online:
1. Essential content will be submitted to social bookmarking sites (e.g. stumbleupon). I'm sure the users will check back for more, if they are attracted by my designs.
2. I think webmaster forums like here, and also design forums, are good places to go.
3. Ask my friends to use the themes...
I'm not sure if there's something missed or mislead. So I'm look forward to receiving suggestions. Thanks.
