What is the best video / screen capture editing software?

I'm going to grab some software that will improve the quality of my youtube videos as well as any tutorials or video reviews (screen capture) on my PC.

I wanted to ask for opinions on which ones were preferred by those that have used them. I thought Camtasia 6 was one of the best (it's certainly widely used by a lot of marketers), but I can't find anything out there that even reviews it compared to other editors.

I'm willing to spend the $$$ for the quality, but I've seen top marks for adobe premier elements 7, and at less than $100, vs. Camtasia's $300.

Can I get some suggestions here?

I would just get camtasia because everyone else is using it. There's a reason why. It's good.

I use Camtasia for all my YouTube tutorials. I hate to say it but Camtasia is above and beyond the others, that's why the price is so high. I did a quick google search for "camtasia alternative", you might want to look into them.

FYI: Can't post links yet.

Hi everyone I am brand new to affiliate marketing and this forum. I have not done any research yet on recording software. Will the Camtasia work on multiple computers? I have a PC laptop and a imac, will it work on both? or would I have to buy two separate software?

Thanks for any input.

love the fourm!

I used in the past Camtasia (any older version) - I'm not willing to pay so much for video software.

Now I use just CamStudio, which is free

Yeah Camtasia is the one of the best. Its the one I use, but coming from a video editors back round I mix it up with Adobe Premiere, just for some extra spice, and to really wow people I use After Effects to add specialised graphics.

What people should consider when releasing a video is it should be entertaining, the information itself as well as the graphic element.

The best free one is JING! its so easy to use! I can highly recommend it, if you want more than 5 min videos then upgrade ;).

I agree jing is good for short 5 min videos (if you need longer break them into parts) and so easy to use , best of all its free but if you feel like upgrading to pro its ?11.50
