Interesting, good to know that they have a time limit. However probably best to just not get one in the first place!

Good to know. I recently came across an article that said Overstock was penalized because of the way they were getting links from .edu blogs (in exchange for store credit) and they are still waiting for their penalization to be lifted. They've claimed that it's taken about 5% of their overall revenue, which shows how much big companies and websites rely on Google traffic.

Little question - after Google revokes the penalty of the website that had wrong algorithms or that received a manual penalty, if the website, say, was at the top pages of Google search, will it return to its original place or the owner will have to do SEO all over again?

You can - just go to Youtube and type in the search box - "Webmaster Google Help" - you should get a lot of M. Cutts' videos
