I agree fantastic resource, the range of topics are vast, but everything seems to achieve close on first page ratings.

Do not forget how well know Wiki is, many other challengers has come over the years, wiki is still king, I see this continuing, also remeber that Google is not invincible, the set up a YouTube like competition which did not catch up with YouTube, they eventually throw in the towel on that and bought YouTube

Wikipedia is too big now, I don't think anything google does can stop them. (Except ranking them so high up)

I think wikipedia and Google have some kind of partnership.
Also, just think about how Google search works, and how many people link to wikipedia.
