Here's the thing: How many times to you want to start over and over?
That gets real old, real fast.

Relying on Google search for referrals is very precarious --to say the least.
You are literally swimming in the *Back Biter Sea*
Now if you enjoy the challenge over time and have a reasonable return on your efforts --great.

Affiliate websites can never brand for the reason they are not a brand --they are selling someone else's product.

• So, your only path is to be constantly creating new "mouse traps" to get SEO referrals to sell,
• to buy ads and reduce your SEO if they are direct to your SEO site (bad metrics -- high bounce rates)
• or, try for some elusive evergreen situation --that can work --but not easy.

I am planning a stealthy ad subdomain that is no index that refers traffic to more SEO aggregated affiliate domains or to white label domains that would have consumer/user branding possibilities. Short of an e-commerce domain that sells and ships goods --I have come to the conclusion that "this is the way"

Totally agree with all that you have mentioned here, as these are really some essential steps for starting a successful career. Most people think wrongly that they need to be very good at something in order to start with their own project, but they really just need to have a good goal and strategy for proceeding with activities. It's also necessary to be brave to be possible to start with something like that, but those who aren't willing to take some risks, can't expect to see big results.
