3 Keys To Making A High-Converting Landing Page

When it comes to making an effective landing page there are really 3 keys things you should be doing if you want to get the highest conversion rates possible.

The first key to making a high converting landing page is to write enticing headlines. These are often the first thing that a visitor to your landing page sees so you want to make sure it catches their attention. Your headline should create a sense of urgency, clearly state what your offering them, and should solve a specific problem. For example, this headline

says a free 30 day course to double your email list. Learn from experts who’ve grown email lists over 10 million subscribers. And right below that you can see that they have a countdown timer. This is a good headline because it clearly states they’re offering a free 30 day course to double their email list, which solves the specific problem of not being able to grow your email list. Now this headline itself didn’t create urgency, but just below the headline they had a countdown timer which creates urgency so this landing page is still a good example.

The second key to creating a landing page that converts is to keep it simple. The only goal of your landing page is to collect emails, so you want to make it as easy as possible for a visitor to give you their email. This means you want to keep form fields as short as possible, you want to have a button with a clear call to action, and you want to get straight to the point. If at any point a visitor can’t figure out what to do they will just leave, and that is the last thing we want, so make sure you keep your landing page simple. In order to check if it is simple enough I ask myself if my grandma could figure out what she is supposed to do, if she could then its perfect, if not you may want to consider simplifying the page a little bit.

The third and final key to making a landing page that converts is adding real testimonials because they help build trust, and show proof that what you are offering is valuable. But notice how I said real testimonials, if you don’t have any testimonials yet that’s fine, but don’t make fake ones! You can go back and add testimonials to your landing page once you get real ones. If you’re struggling to get testimonials all you have to do is ask the people who have already opted in for your lead magnet to send you a testimonial. If they actually got value out of your lead magnet they won’t have a problem writing a short testimonial for you.

When you combine A good headline with a simple landing page that has testimonials you should see your conversions increase a ton. Of course you’re still going to want to split test different headlines, pictures and button colors, but these 3 keys should give you a great starting point for your landing page.
