look forward to meeting with you. first round is on me.

likewise, second round is on me ;)

If Jamie cuts loose and starts dancing on the tables
someone at ShareResults darned well better have their camera on!

no worries Linda, I'll have my camera on at ALL times. Jamie has often bragged at the office that he is an accomplished 'funk' dancer :D

No you will not!!!

I already talked to the girls and bribed them.
You will be watched and I will get pics! :p

I spoke with the girls and said that I will dance with them all the time and they will be included in the photos.

Julia is right I used to an accomplished back up dancer for Britney Spears.... we dated, it got messy and I got fired.

I think we should change your user name to "Bad-Boy Jamie"! :p

I'm sure you all will have a blast at the Summit.
Thanks in advance Julia for sending us some good pics to post.

Linda,
He meant that he'd burn those pictures to DVD and circulate them on the Internet.

Between that and hosting his clips on revver and metacafe (on a revshare model), I may not need to focus that much on my PPC campaigns after all...

LOL - I will burn those pictures :)

I was picturing your legions of lady fans transfixed to their screens!

Anyways, since I won't physically be there, I look forward to seeing some interesting posts on the shareresults blog!

my dancing is not that bad!

Hi guys,

I just joined the forum....not too many people talking about the Affiliate Summit except here.

Anyways, for those of you who have gone what are these summits like? I'm more into the listening to the presentations and speeches rather than walking around and meeting people at booths. Not because I don't want to meet you guys :) but because most of the booths don't relate to my business (gambling affiliate  )

When would you suggest getting there? I was thinking about getting there early Monday morning and sitting & listening to most of the presentations. Are these presentations in a theather type room or are they usually big flat rooms and how many people are usually in there?

It sure is going to be hard to avoid going to the beach/pool all day. Never been to the South Beach area.

Later

I'm afraid I won't get this chance to party with you guys. But hope you can meet my boss from there, Mr. Chuck Hamrick.

HI surfallday,

Welcome to 5 Star. I have not been to the one in Miami only in Vegas.
But I think typically they are in small - medium sized conference rooms.
Small enough that you can ask questions. The only problem with sessions is they are all great so it's sometimes hard to pick one if there are several at the same time you are interested in.

One of the values of networking and partying with people is sometimes another affiliate or merchant will give you tips that are more valuable than anything you can learn in a conference session. Getting in the trenches and rubbing elbows with other affiliates, asking questions and listening to them share tips can be invaluable.

And believe me there will be lots of gambling affiliates there. You just need to find them which is probably easy if you just keep your ears open as you walk around the show.

Suck up all you can from every direction (no beaching or pooling for you!).
You'll come back a lot richer if you do!

Thanks for the tips Linda. I agree with you, you're likely to learn a lot more from talking to people. The reason I chose this conference was because it has affiliates from everywhere, not just the casino/poker side. Most gambling affiliates go to what's called (CAP) but with recent arrests not too many actual gambling companies will be coming over to the US any time soon.

It seems like it would be easier to give each other tips when you're not in direct competition anyways.

But....as I wake up this morning I feel like dog S#*#. I'm praying tomorrow when I wake up I feel better but I sure hope not to miss the event, especially since I pre-paid. :)

Here are some more tips if anyone else is a noob to these conferences. The link came from affiliatesummit's blog...

surfallday, hope you feel better. Enjoy the show.

I'll be here blogging it - so slip me some news, rumors or rowdy pics if you can.
:p

Since this thread is 6 pages long and was leading UP TO the Summit,
I'm closing it and starting a new thread for Affiliate Summit News, Updates and Pictures.

I've already added quite a lot of great info and more to come.
Feel free to add to it if you are blogging at the show,
or have pictures to share with us.
