Affiliates VS Resellers

Hi there,

For now I have 1 question to discuss - what is better an why - affiliates or reseller? I suppose these two categories are quite close to each other. But the difference is that affiliates do not sell they just attract on the other resellers should sell something to gain. But actually in both cases purchase should occur in order for affiliates/resellers receive income. So, what is primary difference here? Can someone advice?

I don't work on the reseller side of things, but my perception is that resellers TYPICALLY are more involved in the sales process whereas affiliate TYPICALLY refer visitors, possibly with some pre-selling copy but they don't usually get involved in the sales process at all.
