Also, the GDPR is a reaction in part to this retargeting. Retargeting can only be anonymous to some degree -- but the identifiers of an Internet user could theoretically be used to subpoena deposition or evidence in civil and criminal investigations.

Of course privacy is important and it's something that we take very seriously - and certainly ad blockers are an option for those who wish to use them.

Nevertheless, it’s important to consider that in general consumers prefer personalized ads. Advertisers can take that into consideration, and create specific ad experiences for costumers that have previously expressed an interest in their product.

Ideally, retargeting can be used to upsell other products to users who have previously made a purchase. Retargeting can be used to offer discounts and personalised products to users. These things can be of benefit to the end user.

We understand your concerns, but wish to stress that for TrafficStars, our intention is only to provide tool for advertisers to reach the audiences who will be interested in their products.

Seriously, that is just a cliche`. Canned response
However;
If consumers are naked to advertising why not retarget them -- I am sure it is profitable.

Hell, I do obnoxious porn advertising but I would NOT want to retarget my customer because that just might alienate him when his family members might use his computer
