Hey everyone!
Just a quick question, is anyone working with SMTP and outlook to send big amounts of mails?
Since september the accounts keep getting locked every few days and that costs, before that everything was working for months? Anyone has the same issue?
Outlook should never be used for such things. I am surprised this hasn't happened to you sooner.
For bulk email, only a bulk email processor should be used. They warm up the send, they manage the process and know when to speed up and slow down, etc.
Outlook only has disadvantage of less user engagement.
if you are trying to send marketing mails then you wont be able to get into user engagement (which is necessary).
but if you want to send transactional mails then outlook is great.

Attention: "role based name" email prefixes such as support, webmaster, info, contact, forum, service, affiliate, admin, traffic, partners, marketing, etc., for our member accounts are not permitted. They are acceptable for a vendor listing, but not for the member email. This is due to bulk email processors scrubbing them for delivery due to extremely high bounce rates. Please apply for membership using a personalized email prefix. Something like bob@xxxxx.com.
If we discover you signed up with a role based name we will give you only one message to change it. After 3 days your account will be removed if the email is not changed.
