Porn sites do very well if they generate enough traffic.
If you look at some of the top porn sites (ie pornhub.com, youporn.com, etc) look at the ads on the sites and you will find penis pills, cam sites and adult dating offers.

Are you trying to create porn sites or you're trying to promote porn related offers? While it's extremely profitable to run adult offers i can't say the same for creating a porn site - it's too much work and too time consuming.

As mentioned above it can be great if you have the experience necessary to build up the traffic. Prepare to put in some heavy hours but it is well worth it in the long run if you're willing to stick with it.

It really depends on your vertical/niche. Membership sites are getting tougher because of all the free content available on the tube sites like pornhub, xhamster, etc. If you have the ability to produce quality custom content that satisfies a serious niche, then yes there is a lot of money to be made. It is not the gold rush by any means these days where you can spend $100 to make $10k.

With that said, I know plenty of guys still making a good living running their own membership sites that serve a very niche market.

I am not sure about adult sites but good money nowadays is made with adult paid traffic (aka media buys) You can buy traffic from an ad network on CPM and/or CPC (depends on how this network works) and then send this traffic to relevant offers (adult, dating, male enhancement, etc.) that pay per action (most often - per lead/signup). The point here is to make sure that your earning-per-click (EPC) or per thousand impressions (eCPM) is higher than what you have actually paid for those clicks or impressions respectively. This (hopefully) positive difference s where your profit comes from. Good media buyers see sweet margins of 30-50% using this approach and some can even reach 100%+ ROI in certain instances.

Like they said "sex sells" and it is still profitable. Why do you think people still creates tube sites even when there are tons of them already exist.
