The simple answer is no, you should not use misspelled keywords for the purposes of SEO. And here's a couple of reasons why.

First, to rank well for a phrase each page should be optimized for 1 main a few supporting phrases. So, if you want to rank a page for a misspelled keyword, you should create a separate pages for that keyword. Which doesn't really make sense.

Second, you should also review keyword search volumes for misspellings. If no one is typing in the misspelled terms, then there's no point in spending time and money targeting those terms.

Third, if you were to use misspellings on a page it could trigger your site as a lower quality. I'm not saying it will, but it's a potential. Ideally, keep your site as clean as possible in terms of spelling and grammar.

Finally, is there a conversion value in these misspelled keywords? Do people that use the misspelled keyword buy on your site or commit a conversion action? You can test it with an AdWords campaign and see if these are actually the terms you want to target.

The bottom line is: you should test these misspelled keywords first to see if people are converting. If they are, then try incorporating these misspelled terms into your copy on the pages (keep in my spelling point above).

Aside from using AdWords for keyword testing I strongly recommend using AdWords to target those misspelled phrases. This can both give you an insight into what terms convert and hopefully get you some good visits at a lower CPC.

Don't think so, in order for keywords to really work and give some results you must take care they are spelled properly. There was some tactic earlier in which misspelled keywords were added if the analyses have shown that many people search some queries in a wrong way, but it isn't that relevant nowadays. If someone misspells some word in a query, Google will direct them to the right one, so it's best to use only keywords that have the right spelling and word order.

In 2021 I've run 4-5 SEO field tests with misspelled keywords and managed to get good traffic coming in. There are some outliers to what people have already mentioned here, which is why 'it still works', however, conversions are incredibly scant. Exactly because these outying factors lack quality.

There are still a few Russians running this as their primary strategy. Without 'outing' anyone's sites; they can be found when researching LiveJasmin and StripChat keyword variants.

Hi,

You need not to bother. First of all Google not only understand miss-spellings but you can rank for synonyms even if the exact word is not in your content. As meta keywords are not doing the trick anymore, anchor texts do work. Trying to fit all the misspellings along with your targeted keywords will look like keyword stuffing so you would want to avoid it.

If you are not sure in which keywords to target for you can always check your analytics and webmaster tools and take a peek on the list of keywords you are already ranking for.
Hope thsi helps.

No, misspelled keywords are not useful for SEO. In fact, they can actually hurt your website's ranking. Search engines use sophisticated algorithms to determine the rank of a website, and misspelled keywords will negatively affect your ranking.

To improve your website's ranking, make sure to use correct spelling and grammar throughout your website, and use keywords that are relevant to your business. By doing so, you will help your website rank higher in search engine results pages (SERPs).

Here is how to use misspelt keywords to gain advantage on SEO. Think about the most common way a popular domain name could be misspelt. Example: Tweeter .com . Go buy a popular domain name as the misspelt keyword. Redirect that domain name to your original website. Make sure the niches are related. Visitors usually mistype a domain name everyday.

Those visitors will land on your misspelt domain name and will be redirected to your website. If the niches are related, you may retain some of them.

In our opinion, targeting misspelled keywords is pointless. Currently, google displays the correct spelling and most people immediately go to the keyword spelled correctly.

No, as the spelling mistake is not repeated, even if a word is misspelled chances of same mistake repeating for different person is considerably less. Unless and until that mistake is committed by many across the globe.

A keyword is any term that’s searched on a search engine frequently. One term that many people type into search engine becomes a keyword.

Using misspelled keywords in anchor blog link/ forum link will not help at all, as there are no searches made with that term hence it will never be indexed until it becomes a keyword.

I think that nowadays spelling mistakes are corrected automatically as you write, so it doesn't make much sense anymore, as many commenters have said. In addition, Google often selects synonyms for keywords, and if you spell a word with a mistake, it will be harder to do

Don't do that, you have bunch of keywords focus on them to rank to gain best results, more queries, more customers, more leads, and thus Improved ROI. Suppose you are targeting keyword1 and it is ranking at the top page, but you wish to target is by misspelled, it lead to lower down your ranking f keywords, so avoid it.
