Hello, I am confused as to the whole affiliate marketing thing works. So yes I have ran websites in the past and I understand that if you have affiliate companies with ads and you can get paid for people to click on them sometimes just look at them or they have to sign up ect. However, what if I don't have a website? Or a popular FB? Or anything of the source. I am confused as to how to this work and is unique towards any other form of advertisement. Please enlighten me so I can understand this more clearly. Thanks! :)

First create a website to show your offer (are called Landing Pages) there are templates to edit all over the net, then you need a tracker (is a tool to watch the data of your campaings) then you need to create a campaing on a traffic source, there are tons of it, some are more easy to use than others, at the beggining you will lose money, don´t be affraid, is totally normal, after a few days you will see data on your tracker, you "optimize" your campaing and let it run again, and keep optimizing and testing a lauching more campaings, If you have any question don´t heasitate to ask.

Okay so create what website? Like actually buy a legitimate domain.com one or just like a wordpress one or what? What would actually work? What kind of domain would it be? What would even be on the website?? Also, I see landing pages in peoples signatures, but which landing page should I pick? So many options, which ones do I even pick?

Then I assume any tracker will do. What's a good tracker? How do a create a campaign ? Which ones? When I think of campaign I think of things from Geico to porn so I don't really understand this? Also once decided, why that one? I assume some are for different types of niches but I don't even know what kind of website to have? Where do I get to contact reliable traffic sources? I assume they will be very costly? When would I know not to waste my money or when it's wise to spend it?

I think basically I am trying to get the right audience to my website and then they naturally click the ads (so a fishing website, people click fishing ads) but like how will people know to come to my website? Why would they even want to? All this is doing basically is getting people to go onto my website for no reason so I get ad revenue (not saying that's bad but just trying to figure this out) I just am so confused as to how to get this going well enough to the point where I can create a job out of this.

p.s. if anybody has Skype or Aim or something to talk.... that would be nice. So confused

Okay, so you are asking loads of questions, but have you taken the time to read the forums. All of your questions tell me you simply do not have the big picture and that's because you haven't researched.

I am going to give you some advice, but before I do, I want to give you a few simple formulas to know. You say you know, but your questions demonstrate you do not.

First of all, a simple explanation:
Ad > Landing Page > Offer Page
This is the simplest explanation. There are many variations that can and will be derived from that formula, but that is essentially what we do.

Next, a little more detail. You join an affiliate network. They are the intermediary between you as a publisher (affiliate) and the advertiser.
The advertisers offer is available at the Affiliate Network. You sign up to the network to have the privilege of promoting the advertisers offer.
You promote the offer by buying traffic from a traffic source where you place your ads and when someone clicks the ad they are sent to your landing page. Your landing page is there to pre-sell the offer. The prospect clicks the link on your landing page and goes to the advertisers offer page. If the prospect completes the advertisers offer, then you get paid.

This is a business, it has many facets. It is not difficult, but you need to take it by the numbers. You need to do a fair amount of reading here in the forums to get an essential set of brains about what we do. start with the simplest and easiest stuff. When you have a reasonably well rounded idea about what we do and how we do it, then you are ready to start. We will guide you, but do not think you have to be a master of the game in theory before you start, you will never start if you do.

We place ads on traffic sources, we pay for the ads one way or another, we presell the offer on our landing pages, and if we have done a good job then they will complete the offer on the advertisers offer page. Then we get paid. Keep it simple at first.

You will pick a niche, you have some landers built, you will learn to write copy, you will learn to master a tracker, you will learn to master a traffic source, and you will learn to develop a proper schematic to use over and over for creating successful campaigns.

Everyone has to start somewhere. Be active in this community, ask loads of questions, make the proper investments, take action, and be committed. That's how it gets done!

Use this forum as a mentor. It's full of members at every level of experience which makes for many balanced perspectives for a Newbie to learn from. Take the time to read through the forums here and see for yourself that the Newbies achieving success have actually dedicated themselves to success in this industry and reaping the rewards by following the advice of fellow AffiliateFix members, being dedicated to success, putting the time in, and making the necessary investments. You cannot shortcut the learning curve. It goes slower for some and it goes faster for others. Everyone has their own intellectual absorption rates, skill development pace, commitment level, and budgets.

You are a FIX'er now and that means you have the world at your feet with IM. Here are a few suggestions:

Read and learn through extensive reading in this community. Select one vertical. one tracker, and one traffic source. Learn from your fellow members here to master each one of them (a couple of months). Then you can expand and replicate your successes.

As a Newbie, you need to read, study, invest, and implement. Perseverance, dedication, and taking action are the cornerstones of the success you will obtain.

Read
Read through the various areas of the forum to learn about the types of marketing available for your new business. Make a list of all the types of marketing and take some notes along the way. Then determine which area of marketing with which you will start your journey.

Do this to select an area of marketing to start, as well, do this to select a tracker, a traffic source, and to select a vertical.

Then read up on the affiliate networks and select two to begin with that will serve your needs and the types of offers you would like to promote. Put your application in and they will call you for an interview. Be professional and be prepared to answer some questions about how you will promote offers, do you have a website, are you a Newbie, etc. Please note, if you join the Dojo, we have a thread there that can offer assistance in getting accepted to some of the networks.

Study
Now that you have selected a basis to begin, read all of the threads in this forum that relate to your initial selections so that you have a rudimentary understanding of their features and benefits.

Invest
You will require some investment. A VPS server, domains, traffic, landing pages, etc. You will need a budget for daily, weekly, and monthly expenses. This will change over time and you will need to update it often so that you know exactly what your costs and earnings are.

Implement
This is where it all starts to earn. You must now begin to implement what you have established as your foundation for your business.

Here is some advice and guidance that will help you establish your initial goals:

Make sure you complete the following first.

Every business needs:

1. a plan
2. a schedule for research, learning, and execution
3. a budget.

Remember to read through our WIKI and get to know the basics as well as some of the buzz words in the industry.

I also recommend reading the following thread:

As a Newbie, What Stops You From Getting Started

Here is a set of immediate goals:

1. Get a VPS
2. Select a vertical
3. Select a tracker
4. Select a couple of networks and get your approval
5. Select a traffic source
6. Create a schedule for researching, learning (training), and working. This is a business, treat it as such!
7. Create a budget for every expense (daily, weekly, monthly)
8. Be very active in this forum by researching, asking questions, helping others when you are able.

Check out the new enhanced membership option here as it is full of great tools and features.

Remember This! : Nothing has to be perfect before you start. Read & study, but invest and implement at the same time. You cannot learn all of it from reading and studying. A great deal of your learning comes from implementing!

Good Luck!

Okay so I THINK what you are saying is.

Here are the steps from beginning to end on what I think I need to do by reading your post however I could be wrong.

First get an AD. But how?
Get a landing page. But how?
Get an offer page. But how?

Join an affiliate network. How? Which ones? Is peerfly one?

Then you buy traffic (but from where?) then when people go on your website (does it need to be a legitimate website?) and they for some reason click the ads on the website then they will be sent to the landing page you created and you then have the ad and if they click the ad and completes the advertisers offer (I assume this means buying things?) then you get paid.

Am I on the right track here? Or am I just lost? I am having difficulty figuring out how to start and fully comprehend this whole affiliate marketing game.

Okay, so you are asking loads of questions, but have you taken the time to read the forums. All of your questions tell me you simply do not have the big picture and that's because you haven't researched.

Am I on the right track here?

Dude, you're doing it all wrong. You're trying to understand how to make a cake without understanding what the ingredients are and what and oven is. You've got a very detailed answer, it's like you just skimmed through the text without paying much attention to it. There is gold in that answer! You wont get much more help if you don't at least show you're putting some effort into things.

For a very very quick shortcut into this game, go on youtube and start typing

- what is affiliate marketing
- how do I buy traffic
- how to setup up a campaign
- what are the best trackers
- how to build a landing page

etc etc etc ... and take notes. Load of them

you'll be amazed at how much info you'll be able to gather. Don't want to come off as being harsh, I'm a newbie myself... But the last thing I want to do as a forum member is bore the living bejeezuz out of everyone with the most basic of questions that I'm more than capable of researching by myself.

An ad is what you see on facebook and on google first results.. If you click there you land on a landing page and after that is the offer. You don't buy traffic to your main page hoping to they click on ads inside the website.
you don't need legitimate website at all.. but is better if look legitimate.. I saw some affiliates using domains like 45795433775.ru is better is you get free-antivirus.com website and inside the website you have several pages like free-antivirus.com/android/lp1
free-antivirus.com/android/lp2
free-antivirus.com/ios/lp1
free-antivirus.com/ios/lp2 you send traffic directly to the pages.. Not to the main website... when you have those landing into your traker you will receive a link and then you buy traffic straight to the tracking link.. You can buy traffic from tones of traffic networks as pop ads(recommended) or Facebook, Bing, Google (not recommended in your case)
in some cases users don't have to pay for nothing.. just install or give their email and you make money.. The offers can be found on affiliate networks.. Peerfly is one of the best. But there is a lot maybe thousands

Sounds like a giant gamble. Your basically putting money towards marketing someones product with no idea if you will get money back or not.

It takes developed skills and intelligence to be successful in this business just like any other profession.

This is an $84 Billion industry this year. I suppose you think that number is a gamble too!?

Let's get real, it's a business and it needs to be treated as such. If you are going to predict failure by calling what we do a gamble, then this is how people plan to fail.

Success comes from planning, implementation, education, collaboration, networking, investing, research, development, deployment, failures and successes.

If you are unwilling to do what it takes to to succeed, then you will fail no matter the profession you choose.

We have over 70k members, do you really think we are all here gambling?

I'm not saying it's a gamble for everyone since I am sure some people have been doing this for forever but for someone like me it's a gamble to get started in something like this since you need to spend money right away and only maybe make money. Definitely sounds very risky.

You have the wrong mindset for business. There is NO GAMBLE!

Everyone has to invest in business, any business. As well, the average entrepreneur has loads of failures before establishing successes. Honestly, there is not one entrepreneur anywhere on the planet that will agree with your mindset or your thoughts of loss and gamble. Especially from someone that has no experience in the business.

What I see and hear from you is clear and present fear of loss and there is not one successful business person on the planet that will agree that you are correct or that you could possibly succeed with that mindset. You just don't get it.

You say, "but for someone like me it's a gamble". WRONG WRONG WRONG! The statement should read, "for someone with my mindset, I will never succeed". Your mindset is self-defeating, you're focusing on loss.

I've been in the business world for over 50 years and I would never hire someone with that mindset, let alone coach or train them for business. You have a case of what Zig Ziglar calls "stinkin' thinkin".

Work on your mindset and maybe you will be able to turn that frown upside-down!

I agree with tjtutor.. you have to develop a lot of skills before success. You don't have to learn everything right now (You can make a partnership or hire someone.. You can ask to the forum) at the beginning you will fail. Period. You will start learning from your mistakes.. The only thing will make you success is keep failing till the day you crush the game.. Failure is a teacher don't try to avoid it like this. The only way to not fail is not doing nothing at all

I would absolutely love to know how anyone can setup any business without putting up some capital upfront?
In which line of business there is a guaranteed ROI ?
If you open a shop, who is able to rent the space, buy equipment, buy supplies, etc etc .. for free?
Even if you magically could, where is the guarantee you'll have customers?
Who can guarantee even if you do have customers, that they'll be satisfied?

This is probably the lowest risk business opportunity I've ever encountered in my almost 40 years of existence on planet earth. This is the lowest upfront capital vs highest scalability potential I've ever seen, except probably for winning a lottery ticket.

Is it easy? Absolutely not. Is it hard? hard work in involved, absolutely.
But it's not hard work, it's just complicated to start.

By your logic, life itself is a gamble. There is no point in living if you're not sure when you're going to die.

I know in order to start any business you need to invest your own money unless your lucky and someone else gives you the money. However, I am not like you guys. I just graduated from college I am broke as shit. If I got into this I will be broke forever like no food status. Even if I invest 2k and then loose that, I will be even more broke!

You say the people here will help you. You can get partners etc. Honestly, what I've learned in business is nobody gives two fucks about anybody else unless they get money in return from them. So why the fuck would anybody want to help me without getting my investment money and then use that money on their own life. You know how many times that has happened to me especially in the online business world and in the real one as well? I would love to blow 4k but if i lost that 4k! Then I am BROKE and nobody will feel sympathy for me. I went 50/50 partners with someone and we had 5k to spend and the next night he took it all and I was broke. I can't have that happen again. People are scumbags when money is involved.

I am not trying to rude. Maybe some people out there really will help and care about you. In my life, I have been beaten in order to get robbed, robbed while asleep, robbed over the internet trying to make websites. Robbed by friends. I just am scared. That is all. For those of you who are rocking it good for you but if I get fucked over one more time and become broke I feel like i'll have no option other than to become homeless wanting to end it all.
