Seeking Help Build in Public: Seeking Feedback on the Term 'Campaigns' for Publishers

Hello everyone, I have an issue that I can't solve without your help. It's about the term "Campaigns" and its usage in our UI.

For the sake of simplicity, I would like to set this definition for the discussion:"to organize a series of activities to try to achieve something"

In marketing, a (advertising) campaign can consist of a billboard, an advertisement in a magazine, a social media post, etc. However, this term comes from the perspective of an advertiser.

I would like to know what term publishers would use. If we talk about "Campaigns" in our UI, is that understandable to you as publishers, or would another word be more fitting? Would you, as publishers, want to manage, edit, or create "your campaigns"? A campaign in our system consists of 1 or more ad types.

What do you think would be a more suitable term? I'm looking forward to your support.

Ad Set could be a suitable term. Here's an example of how using this term in our UI would look. Does it still seem fitting to you in this context?

Could the term "Ad Set" potentially cause confusion because it’s already used by platforms like Facebook? Or is it actually the more appropriate term—especially under Facebook’s definition—since a campaign (and its goals) can only be defined by the advertiser, while an Ad Set can (potentially) be managed by the publisher?

Depends on user familiarity: use "Ad Set" if it fits a publisher context well; if unclear, "Placement Group" might offer more immediate clarity.
