A/B testing (split testing) is the comparison of two or more options affecting
effectiveness.

Stages of performing A/B testing
  1. Set a goal for testing: increase the number of clicks on the creative, increase
    conversions on the landing page, decrease the cost of a click, etc.

  2. Analyze the original data to compare results. You can use any tracker or

  3. Select elements for testing. If you have several of them, determine the testing
    order.

  4. Create options. If you’re testing the CTA, change the color of the button or
    its position.

CAC and CRC in affiliate marketing

You're going need to record the exact spending on offer promotion when you organize
a stable lead flow.

Customer Acquisition Cost (CAC) – is the cost of one acquired client within a certain
period.

CAC = AC budget / acquired clients

The AC budget includes ad spending, software, designing creatives, time, labor and
service costs, and others.

CAC allows one to plan the cost of an AC on various platforms and track the
effectiveness of each one. You can also use it to adjust and optimize the marketing
funnel and analyze the CAC to the acquired client quality ratio.

Another purpose of calculating the CAC is to decrease the cost price of 1 client. To
do this, you need to optimize the cost-effectiveness:

  • Optimize targeting – analyze the reasons if you get a small conversion from
    your ads. Most likely, you’ll have to redo the TA analysis and expand it.

  • Optimize the conversion ratio – work on your creatives (prepare target
    texts, images, media content), optimize websites, simplify payment systems, etc.

  • Optimize the sales funnel – evaluate every step of the sales process and
    determine the number of visits it will take to convert a visitor into a lead and
    how many leads result in a purchase.

  • Optimize the pricing strategy – your pricing policy determines how long
    before you get ROI (if your offer allows it, you can optimize the upfront
    payment and prepay volumes that will help you get income sooner).

  • Increase marketing and sales efficiency – determine the channels that provide
    returns on investments and work only with those.
Customer Retention Cost (CRC) – the cost of retaining a client.

The CRC includes all the costs of retaining a client: service, attracting, retargeting,
marketing focused on the existing clientele base, and others.

CRC = retaining costs/number of repeated clients

CRC helps to determine the price-setting and types of marketing campaigns, as well
as to expose certain issues in the AC.

It is essential for the CRC and CAC that you keep a balance between determining the
optimal budget to acquire quality clients with an appropriate LTV (Lifetime Value) and
a good income level.

Usually, the “quality” of a client is represented by the ratio of LTV to CAC.

This indicates how alive your AC is and whether it can retain a low CAC during scaling.

Dating is one of the most popular verticals in affiliate marketing. The task of the affiliates is to bring as many clients as possible to the dating site and get a commission for it according to a set payment model.

Sweepstakes is a vertical with various lotteries and raffles in which users have a chance to win valuable prizes.

What are the most common prizes found in sweepstakes? Of course, gadgets (e.g. the latest model of iPhone), trendy trainers, gift cards from major shops, and products for children are the most common categories.

What kind of prize will be raffled off depends a lot on the GEO. For example, somewhere expensive trainers generate more interest than a gadget. In the midst of the Coronavirus 2020, for example, the draws for gift cards to a children's shop in Australia attracted the most traffic.


Payment models

  • SOI (Single Opt-In)

SOI is the simplest offer flow, the usual lead generation. Main Traffic Sources in 2023

May is coming to an end, which means that almost half of the year 2023 has passed! That implies that you can already draw confident conclusions as to which sources this year deserve the most attention.

1. Facebook

Even though Meta's shares have fallen by up to 70% and the company has laid off many employees — the social network remains the top source of traffic. No matter how you look at it — there is a lot of money flowing in and a huge number of customers.

One of the downsides is the constant banning and blocking of advertising accounts, and the platform support is in no hurry to solve problems. There are two ways out — buying more and more new accounts, or working via agency accounts (which will cost more).

2. Google
