Faked Google Reviews

Don't believe everything you read!

Dont believe anything you read as fact
Fact check everything from multiple sources
Check sauces 1st hand, taco bell, texas pete, tabasco
Do your own calculations
Deep fake means even video can be phoney
Use common sense, which is not common at all
Then once all that is done take it with a double handful of salt

I'm very happy to see something is being done in this regard!

I remember helping a floor sander here in Denmark some years ago getting into Google Ads, and 2 local competitors had hundreds of Google reviews each...funny thing was that 99% of the reviewers had only done 2 reviews - one on each of the competitors :rofl

Honestly, unless you personally know someone who has used the service, it's hard to cut through all the fake reviews. People manufacture reviews, likes, views, subs... It's a jungle out there :)

This is why photo and video reviews hold so much more weight than text reviews
Since I will imagine 99% are text reviews, easy to fake
Photos much more time consuming to fake
Videos even more time consuming to fake
(until AI comes along)
Its an opportunity right now for the savvy marketer

It's pretty easy for me to tell a consumer's photo from a web photo. Using fake reviews with photos grabbed from websites --won't fool savvy people.

What I mean is, customer posts a picture of the product being used, then that is much harder to fake than just text
Yes it's possible but more time consuming, an easier to prove theft
Related, I think Adidas does a very good job with reviews
