Getting started with Mobile ?

Hey Charles,

First off I would like to thank you for dedicating your time and knowledge in helping Affiliates here at AffiliateFix!

My question is for the new affiliates out there that want to start making money on mobile campaigns but have no idea where to begin. I think there are a lot of people out there who want to start but have no clue how to make it profitable. So my question for you is:

Q: In your opinion, what are the best ways to get started to create a mobile campaign that will generate profit?

1. Get a dedicated mobile tracker such as imobitracker or mobaff tracker
2. pick a self served traffic source. there are so many good ones: mmedia, jumptap, tapit, inmobi, mobfox, etc.
3. work with a mobile focused network, and find a good offer
4. Launch
5. start cutting away at unprofitable carriers and handsets
6. test ads, landers, offers as you normally do

Mobile marketing's not that much different from web marketing, you just have more variables to deal with

I go a completely different direction.
I get phone numbers.
I send special offers.
I collect payment.

Done.

Maybe that is oversimplifying the facts, but it is a rough outline of how we do SMS marketing to work with clients that pay us a commission on sales. The step I am not elaborating on is how we get the phone numbers and avoid upsetting people. That is where the hard work is found.
