I know that gaining a PR takes a lot of effort but i did't think it would be this hard.

My site has been online for about 3 months now (with content). the domain was registered on 10 dec 06.

I have been trying really hard to get links but when i search google for link:domain, only one comes up. i have seen the links on the pages that arent showing up so i know they are there. i also have a link from my myspace (PR5) and Bebo (PR4) as well as many forum posts, blogs, etc.

i just used a future page rank tool to see that my current rank is 0 and is predicted to be 0 on the next update (which i believe will be about 3 months time, correct me if i am wrong).

I seem to be putting lots of effort in but getting nowhere. argh!

Here is a very brief analysis
In Google you have just 1 back links, in Yahoo you have 89 back links. Most of your link are from web directories, perhaps that is why Google did not record much back links for you.
Here are things that can help:

1. Developed a good link exchange plan (get links from WEBSITE as may as possible)
2. Keep submitting to web directories as well but your priority should be mainly websites
3. Buy links from HIGH PR directories for example for £1 you can get a PR4 link from Promote your website for only A Pound
4. I already mentioned the forum things to you in previous post
5. Do not get discourage that your efforts has not been rewarded, just intensify you effort and you will see the result in the form of higher PR at next update .

thanks for the tips. is buying links such a good idea? i read that buying links is not always a good idea. how many pr4 backlinks would i need to make a difference and how long would i have to have them linking to me for?

Link building is a non stop process if you want to get anywhere.. one of my sites has 250,000 links in Yahoo, I am still building more link every day. So I will say just find as many links as possible. What I tend to do is have a budget but money and time for link building every week and this I do week in week out.

Yes, there is that thing about buying links but there is not clear ways for google to know if some links are bought or now, its expensive links you should stay away from but for a £1 a year link you cannot go wrong or a free link.

1. Well you basically go to forum and post link exchage request, at this forum here is where to post it: http://forums.ukwebmasterworld.com/reciprocal-link-exchange/
2. If you stick around a forum for example this, you actually get to know people who will help you, for example this are many nice guys here like Bagi, Like Eric, OWG etc etc, most of them have good website, when I need a link (or some members of this forum that they know) they just give you a link when you advertise for link and they can help, other may sell it to you at discounted rates etc etc so just join other people post let then know you are here

3. You can do a search for link exchange (I see you already have a link from linkcentre) do a few more link that

most of all, don't get tired, sales will follow as your site gets more links and ranks higher in search engines.
