Hi guys

First of all just want to say a massive thanks for letting me join the forum, really appreciated. I have come here to hopefully get some help and advice on my affiliate journey which has currently run into a very solid brick wall.

A little bit of background which will hopefully help you understand a little more about my journey so far. So I am not an absolute newbie to affiliate marketing, I made a few bucks here and there about a decade ago selling low cost Click bank products via small WordPress sites. I am in my mid-60s, semi-retired, and comfortable financially [but not super wealthy]. I work 5 days a week as a volunteer at a dog rescue now, dogs are my absolute passion, so very much in my happy place!

Anyways, last year I decided to revisit affiliate marketing as I figured a few hundred extra dollars for luxuries a week would be beneficial.

I did quite a lot of research to find a high paying affiliate program with a solid reputation and good affiliate resources and support. I found a very well paying and reputable program promoting Gold IRA retirement accounts for a company called Augusta Precious Metals. I convinced them to accept me as an affiliate despite my lack of experience and history of affiliate success [I talk a good talk when I want something] and commenced trying to sell their services, after all how hard could it be? Well the answer to that became very clear after 4 or 5 months and many thousands of dollars spent on a wide range of different advertising services [for the sum total of one qualified lead which sadly did not convert], VERY HARD INDEED!

Sadly business success in other areas of life does not automatically translate into business success as an affiliate marketer! I have come to realize that affiliate marketing is a very specific skillset learned and honed over many years with substantial capital resources committed to the process. I was forced to eat a pretty large slice of humble pie and realize that I did not have the skills needed to sell the service effectively and get results. The company were very supportive and were happy to try and help me but the bottom line was that the vast majority of affiliates who were accepted into the program were already successful established affiliate marketers unlike myself.

I backed away from affiliate marketing for best part of a year after that with bruised pride and depleted wallet.

Anyway decided to revisit affiliate marketing this week BUT from a different angle, and that’s why I am here today [Sorry if that was a bit long winded but I thought the background of the situation was relevant]

Augusta have a 2 tier affiliate program where you can earn from other affiliates you introduce, so I have decided that rather than trying to promote a hugely expensive product/service with skills I don’t have, the way to go would be for me to find other skilled experienced affiliates who do know how to promote the company’s services effectively and earn from their abilities.

So what I am hoping for here is a bit of advice and guidance as to how best to get the affiliate opportunity in front of experienced affiliate marketers who may be interested in becoming involved.

Obviously I cannot post a link, but if anyone wants to check out the affiliate opportunity so that they can better advise me, they can Google Augusta Precious Metals Affiliates and the page will come up.

Can anyone offer me any ideas or insights how to get this in front of the right people with the skills to promote it? Are there any platforms where I can advertise this as an affiliate opportunity? Or are there other forums out there where you are allowed to promote an affiliate opportunity to other marketers? I don’t mind if people suggest paid options as long as costs aren’t astronomical.

Really hoping there are people here who can point me in the right direction, huge thanks in advance.

Cheers Adrian

You do not have the developed skills to be promoting an affiliate "program". All newbies should be "cutting their teeth" on affiliate "network" offers. They are far more forgiving, far more prone to helping a newbie develop their business, and the cost of promoting network offers is far less expensive and demanding that promoting affiliate programs. Once you have achieved a stable, reliable, and predictable business with network offers, you will then be prepared to enter into the affiliate "program" promotion field.

You need these (and a few other things along the way):
a VPS
a Tracker
a Intelligence Platform subscription
2 or 3 affiliate network accounts
2 or 3 traffic sources

You will also need an account on Freelancer and Upwork for establishing relationships with a couple of freelancers to help you with your banners, ads, landers, translators, etc.

Welcome to Affilitefix Adrian:)

That was well detailed message right there, i really appreciate you mentioned that here and ask for help. Well i would be honest with you! if there's anything working for someone else it doesn't mean would work for you!
The thing you mentioned you "had results with clickbank" clearly states that you might be doing things correct, it's just the platform or niche won't be fit for you!

now coming to your point "Finding affiliates," mostly for this purpose people "My self" use linkedin, to find and reachout potential partners. It's not as easy as it looks but believe me it's worth it. But i would be honest with you, the niche you mentioned, i am not sure if that would be doable with publishers out there! Although there are many other platforms provide same services!

Like us! at StarBurst Affiliates, we provide multiple options to the partners work with us to provide them with best marketing products to promote to help them make money! We work with top end direct advertiser which allow us to keep track the results even faster and provide details on targeting so we could help them fix it and maximize their results. We also offer refurral program where you can refer affiliates to our platform as you want to do for them! but with us, you would have large inventory to work with. Which means there wouldn't be only 1 specific product you could hunt affiliates for but many!

Which would wider your working market area and would help you save much much time. If you found this interesting, you can let me know and we can hope on a quick call to discuss how can we help you benefit. And might give you some advice in the call as well regarding hunting publishers:)

Let me know. Looking forward to speaking with you

At first my initial thought was as a man in the middle recruiting some affiliates really wouldn't be a money maker. However, I recalled that when I was involved in a larger affiliate program; there was one guy was making $97,000/yr (c. 2005) off sub affiliates. He was getting 10% of what they were making --now he was one of the first people involved in that program but it was just one level below him.

Anyway, what happened is the program manager decided to cut out the deal that he had on sub affiliates and I remember him asking me if there's anything I could do to somehow get his sub Affiliates back, long story, and at the end of the day there was nothing that could be changed however I tried ... But read what Chat GPT had to say in voice, she went on and on, and she came up with the military veterans and even active duty personnel being a very good source of sub Affiliates as they have a lot of cohorts that are interested in investing pension funds.

Quite frankly, I would never have even thought of that segment for something like gold IRA investments.
