Hi everyone,

Do any of you guys have any success marketing non-adult related products through TrafficJunky, Traffic-Masters, etc., through adult sites to make conversions? Any advice on this? Or it is similar campaigns through non-adult channels? Thank you.

Depends on how you filter and how strict the 'brand safety' terms are of the mainstream offer.
People surfing porn sites do buy many things they just rarely buy what they can get for free.

porn -->your website --> mainstream
your website can't be porn content
the original referrer is lost on a click but may or may not be lost on a 30x redirect ;)

Try it with a mainstream offer/network/sponsor that is meaningless if they terminate you -- nothing to lose. Or, better one that doesn't care -- nutra, sweeps or something else on the shady side.

Hi Graybeard,

Thank you for the response. I spoke with the owner of the brand he said he didn't care as long as it drove sales. So in that case I wouldn't need to do a lot of redirects, just direct marketing to the website right? I'm just trying to figure out if conversions through adult sites is similar to just the regular ones in this instance.

There are so many cases when porn traffic is being used on those mainstream products which totally don't allow it...
You can hide referring sites though if the affiliate program/client has even basic tracking in place it will be tracked.
We do offer "hide referring" sites option though using pre-landers and redirects is better
Though if you are not on good terms with the mainstream affiliate network/client I'd say don't do it

Social engineering comes into play here.
porn site ad -> your landing page -->the referred (your ad click) clicks a link ---> mainstream

the referrer is the last CLICKED link and not the 301,302 redirect (often, most of the time:this is browser protocol)
HTTP is stateless-- a redirect is like the connecting highway.
the starting point and the destination are the path; and the starting point MAY(should) be the referrer given.
starting click -->302 ---> destination = here the 'starting point' is the referral
