Minimum Keyword Search Results?

From your experience, guys. What amount of search results has typically been a good indicator of potential when you adword a keyword? Reason why I ask is I've come across a few keywords with--in my opinion anyways--a good amount of search results (300,000 or so locally) and a very low competition level.

I look for monthly searches for around 5k, this way I don't have to compete with to many other websites.
But I see you found 300k which I am jealous lol, you must have found something good with this many searches and low compete.

Are you both referring to broad or exact searches. Assuming you are using googles free search tool, there is usually a massive difference in the results for broad versus exact. (then there's global versus local, which is another kettle of worms).

Well, I'm personally still learning about this. If exact matches is the keyword setting that provides a more accurate picture of keyword search engine demand, then by all means, yes I'm referring to exact matches. :p

When you use the google keyword search tool, you must select which search you want - broad, phrase or Exact. Most of what I've read says the exact search is the closest to 'accurate.'.

As the default is a Broad search, you might want to revisit your keyword lists and results. 300k exact local searches in a niche that can be monetized with very little competition sounds a bit surprising to me.
