over-analyze and "scientific approach"

hey Charles,
yes you are right on by pointing out that I was over-analyzing in my post "constant or variable"...I myself realized I was over analyzing when making that post lol

But the problem is that I can't help it. I was reading Tom's POF guide and got the impression that it's a scientific approach. Look at how much attention he pays for all the details, all the variables etc etc.

I was once told by a veteran that this "SCIENTIFIC APPROACH" was not the best way to do it...what's your take on this? Is your approach "scientific" or not?

I haven't read Tom's guide.

Everyone has their own method. Mine is very scientific, at the same time I believe in the 80/20 rule and focusing on testing the most important elements.

It's important to be able to distinguish the most important elements vs. the least important. Think about a shoe factory. Being efficient means being able to make 1,000 pair of shoes a day. Being effective means knowing whether or not those shoes are even in demand.
