Question About Amazon being Country Specific

Hello,

I am confused a bit about Amazon being country specific. I live in Canada and order my goods from Canadian Amazon. Do I have to be an affiliate with Canadian Amazon? My website will promote products that are used through the entire North America, minus Mexico. It will be getting traffic from the entire North America. How an affiliate gets paid in this case, only Canadian sales through Canadian Amazon? It's like 1/10 of the entire traffic. I guess there is some kind of work around. Or my assumptions are wrong?
