Drinking age all over america is the same, 21
to buy a pack of cigarettes you have to be 18

Is it a national thing or the drinking age vary from state to state?

so cruel! What're the chavs supposed to drink!

I didn't realise they'd changed the smoking laws in the UK - you can still smoke legally at 16 but you can't buy them till you 18 - owned.

I drink on a rare occasion, mostly at Christmas time but not much.

Not many drinkers and smokers, and as you can see from above I do both, I guess that's what being a teenager in the 70s done to me, when all these things were cool.

I regret the smoking bit now!
