Hello there,

I have been asked to include a calendar in a website, which shows the availability of a vehicle for the current and next month. Is there an easy way to do this without having to hard code the page each time a change occurs? This would be marvellous!

Thank you,
lala

Get hold of a free hotel room availability calendar, Then change the product from a room to a vehicle. Easy as that really.

Too many features

Cheers! The mentioned site is great. There is lots of stuff to be found.

It is only that I do not need that many features. I really just have to show on which days the vehicle is free and on which days it is not. There won't be any bookings via website, they have to be taken manually as the vehicle is a locomotive and the whole process a bit more complicated.

Instead of having an HTML table, which has to be updated from me each time a change occurs it would be better to enable the website owner to do those changes himself. Any suggestions?

Hi there,

Thank you for your reply.

It might seem ambitious for someone who has never done sth like this before, but I would like to do it myself. Think it would be a great opportunity to learn some new stuff. And I could spend some time on it.

If that is too ambitious please let me know. What I would need is a step by step guide...

A step by step guide :(

You are going to have to set up a MYSQL database, write the php code too query it tc. I REALLY is not the sort of stuff you want to be learning with. Why not go for a simple calendar script then?

Cheers!

Thought I could learn this stuff without any problems, but will have a re-think...

Read already "PHP and MySQL for dummies" and get right now into Larry Ullman's "PHP and MySQL for dynamic websites". Kind of dreamed myself becoming the next guru in programming. Sometimes it is hard to stop myself;-)

Thank you for your reply!

BTW: Did you have a chance to have a look on the website mentioned in my other post (http://forums.ukwebmasterworld.com/general-search-engine-discussions/3838-htaccess-file.html You kindly offered assistance.
