Guys, do you track keyword rankings (your own sites or competition)?

  • What tool do you use to track them?
  • How many keywords do you track?
  • For what purpose?

I'd appreciate your input immensely

I'm a software developer, and I've recently started building a keyword tracking tool for affiliate marketers. I can track 50k+ keywords a day with my software at the moment. I want to see how best to adapt it to the needs of affiliate marketers before I scale it up. Feel free to DM me if you'd like to talk about it.

For tracking keyword rankings for my own sites I use Google Search Console. I use Ubersuggest when doing competitor analysis, but I don't track competitors. I track my rankings for multiple reasons, mostly to get ideas what works and what not and to see where people enter the site (and the keywords they used) to optimize those pages.

Yes, I track keyword rankings for both my own site and that of competitors. Many marketers do this as well.
I use tools like SEMrush, Ahrefs, or Moz for tracking.
The number of keywords tracked varies but can range from a few dozen to thousands, depending on the scale of the project.
Tracking keyword rankings helps me gauge SEO performance, identify opportunities for improvement, and monitor competitor strategies.

I use SEMrush and Ahrefs to monitor keyword rankings, concentrating on approximately 100–200 keywords to enhance my SEO tactics and keep an eye on competitors. Your keyword tracking tool appears to be quite impressive! I would love to explore features that could be advantageous for affiliate marketers.

Hey! Yep, I definitely track keyword rankings for both my sites and competitors. Right now, I'm using SEMrush and Ahrefs – they cover most of what I need, but I’m always open to new tools if they’re faster or provide more in-depth data. For a larger site, I'm tracking around 2,000-3,000 keywords, but on smaller sites, it's more like a few hundred. The more keywords I can track efficiently, the better, especially if I can get daily updates. Primarily, it's for SEO optimization, competitor insights, and spotting content opportunities. Keyword tracking helps me prioritize which keywords to go after based on what’s already ranking well, and also shows me if any shifts need immediate attention. If you’re able to track 50k+ keywords daily, that’s huge, especially for affiliate marketers managing multiple projects.

I use tools like Google Search Console, SEMrush, Ahrefs, and AccuRanker for accurate keyword ranking tracking, competitor analysis, and SERP insights to optimize campaigns effectively.
