It totally depends on the product or niche for me, however, from previous experience I would say my favourite traffic source is Google Adwords.
I am basing this mainly on my time promoting financial products and although there was a negative (the cost), the quality of traffic I received from highly targeted campaigns was incredible. My best ever summer was thanks to Google Adwords and I'll never forget it!
Pinterest has been working out very well for me. I've got a few abandoned Pinterest accounts that are still generating traffic for me because people keeping repinning stuff I posted months ago. It seems people have an easier time sharing content on there than other social media platforms.
