which is better for traffic?

can I choose 2?... If not, I'll go with Social Bookmarking...

But Social Bookmarking and Blogging can bring good traffic to a site...

copy that stanneon.. because i used to submit a lot of directory, ads, group posting... i think i will lessen submitting directory and do more on bookmarkings....

Blogging and social bookmarking... Thru social bookmarking you get instant traffic but you need to continue it, while doing blogging you get the traffic through what you give to people. If ppl are impressed with your writing and content they will keep coming and spread the words.

i will choose yahoo answers, social bookmarking, and blogging :D

i include yahoo answers because, there are many people answers question in yahoo answers.... so if you leave you link it'll probably will turn into traffic for your site :D

Blogging would be the most effective from that list, but that is only if your content is very rich and entertaining. Rich original content is like candy to the search engines, especially Google. Entertaining content keeps visitors coming back. The name of the game is not only to get lots of traffic, but getting lots of repeat visitors also.

Social Bookmarking, yes. Blogging is effective, only if you have plenty to say. It's perfect for updates, and can also keep everyone updated very easy with a blog.

A paid link on a specialist/on-topic website beats any of the above.

Word of mouth beats any paid advertising hands down

Bookmarking helps a lot, but not social bookmarking - too much general traffic that won't convert to sales. So find a way to get people to bookmark or recommend your site, but target it.

All of them are equally important to drive a healthy traffic to your business...Do them regularly by maintaining proper consistency...Thanks for all of your opinions....

the guy is just spamming everywhere by giving one liner answer.

I could point out a ton of posts of mine that contain more than 1 line of text. My posts are hardly spam, and calling me a spammer wont get you into my good graces - so why dont you shut your mouth, put your brain in gear and LISTEN.

Like I said earlier, there are lots of good on-target, reasonably priced links out there eg: £10, £20 etc. not expensive and will work much faster than a bunch of crap freebies. You can't do this all by using free methods alone - it will slow you down and youll never get anywhere with your site.

Just out of curiosity, direct me to your website (pm me, if you prefer) and I'll give it the once over, I might know of exactly where there are some good cheap links, and will let you know where they are. You can then start building some up over time and once you got some good links out there, things will pick up much faster for you.

Ofcourse, theres always the chance that if your site is very bad, you may have to start again and rethink the business idea totally, as you wont get anywhere with a bad idea. If its just money you want, you need to be aware that you wont make much with a rubbish idea - so be aware chances are you wont make anything.

If you have copied a dumb website idea, then its probably all over for you (For that particlular web idea, that is), and no forum in the world, no tips, advice will change that - but you need to know, even if you dont like it, but thats why your here anyway, bcos you dont know!

You don't help yourself mate.

The guy shouldnt go around insulting me when I try to help him then. HE doesn't do himself any favours with smart comments.

I dont help myself? Yeah whatever. Im not the one begging for tips am I, think about that one.

Look, these webmasters dont make much money, a few pounds a month I bet and many make nothing - they do it for some ego trip. They all got websites in totally the wrong industries, using the wrong copied business models selling to their own kind and they talk like they own the world or something. Its hilarious.

Yet they dismiss sound advice, not that they know its good advice - which is disturbing really. I dont see why I and others should give up their valuable time helping the ungrateful, the hecklers and idiots of forums.

Im pretty much done with this forum now, its like all the rest, full of kiddys playing big business games, bragging about their worthless, unfilled directory script sites, their SEO ways like it means the ultimate in promotion and the webmaster trash talk about ancient free methods that died long ago. Not to mention their Guru webmaster status, which is one of the funniest things I've ever heard - to read some of these webmaster seo posts. Too funny.

Webmaster sites are about one thing - about ego - dick measuring, and little else. Same old rehashed webmaster crap doing the rounds, heck anyone can find that within 1 hour on the web - they dont need another webmaster forum for that. The lack of basic knowledge on forums is scary, running a business isnt a game, it can be fun, but that happens only at a certain level, which none of these guys will ever see - I hope I'm wrong for their sakes.
