With such a list you pretty fast slip into spamming wich nowadays plays a bigger role as spamming involves punitive action by Google. So far I'm aware the other search engines don't have the will to educate their users.
Specially guest blogging, Article submission and Directory submission you have to be careful that theme relevanz is maintained. Link exchange is a pretty bad Idea specially as you give up control over the link. Websites turn Spam easier than most people think.
A business should always have some directory links, some businesses don't even need a website and just use business directories.
Business directories help businesses to have a first window into the realm of the web. But also businesses should be carefull not to overdo linkbuilding.
Social Media has the login problem their content will not be indexed. The Links social media gives out are still purely referral. Even Google is saying that in the future they most likely will blablabla. Google says a lot and a lot still is not being implemented. That apart google is not the onlky search engine.
