It was probably an illegal key. Careful with those they provide huge malware risks. Besides, you can find cheap and legit keys on the web. See this website, this one sells legal keys.

For sure! You can be in serious trouble with yourselves and others when using an illegal key since things can really go wrong. It is much like playing with fire; the thrill is good for a while then it is time to be roasted! There could be a legit key somewhere lurking deep, but it can save you lots of headaches from malware later on.
