What to Consider When Advertising to Kazakhstan

Kazakhstan is considered a top-tier region for advertising, especially across various verticals. However, certain factors should be taken into account.
Below are current insights and advice to help you profitably advertise and succeed financially

Population

Kazakhstan is traditionally classified as a Tier-3 country. Yet, recent years have seen rapid development, potentially elevating it to the "second tier" soon. The nation boasts a robust economy and a growing quality of life.

The country is home to nearly 20 million people, with an average age of 31. Age distribution is approximately as follows:

  • 0–14 years: 21.6%,
  • 15–64 years: 71%,
  • 65 years and above: 7.4%.

Kazakh is the official language, but around 85% of the population is proficient in Russian. This diminishes the need for extensive content adaptation.

Notable Feature to Focus On

The locals are still receptive to advertising, with relatively low "banner blindness." Bright creatives, such as banners showcasing hot offers and promotions, tend to generate higher conversion rates.

Additionally, influencer marketing is highly effective here. Collaborating with well-known individuals can significantly boost conversion rates. Utilizing direct advertising through bloggers is recommended.

Purchasing Power

Salaries in Kazakhstan continue to rise. The average monthly income is $669, comparable to some EU countries. The highest incomes are typically found in Atyrau, Mangistau, Astana, and Almaty.

However, higher incomes correspond to increased costs for goods, services, and utilities.

Credit Usage

The demand for loans has been consistently high. People usually take out loans for significant purchases, while microfinance institutions cater to those in need of smaller sums due to financial constraints.

Interestingly, half of borrowers now turn to installment plans and small loans to cover purchases. Deferred payments and the absence of overpayments drive this trend.

Internet Traffic

Approximately 85% of the population uses the internet. Traffic distribution among devices is as follows:

  • Mobile: 79%,
  • Desktop: 21%.

Traffic sources are similar to those in Russia, with slight differences in market share. For example, while Yandex accounts for 63% of search engine market share in Russia, Kazakhstan's equivalent is around 17%.

Instagram is the most popular app, followed by TikTok, Telegram, and YouTube. VKontakte and Facebook have less popularity.

In conclusion, Kazakhstan's GEO presents a promising testing ground. The country offers cost-effective and active traffic, potentially making it a valuable opportunity.

Pinterest has identified the best ways to monetize content on the platform

Do you enjoy browsing Pinterest in your free time? And you're not alone, along with 460 million people from all over the world who monthly turn to Pinterest for inspiration, ideas, and products. It's a "Goldmine" for content creators, playing a pivotal role in shifting users from passive scrolling to action. Pinterest has revealed how to achieve this quickly and effectively.

At the core of promoting any product or service on Pinterest are Pins. Platform users now have access to an enhanced Pins functionality that was previously limited, including adding active links, post-publish editing, image formatting within posts, music, stickers, and decals.

The toolkit is quite extensive, so the platform has shared insights into their effective utilization, to facilitate editing, publishing, monetization, and brand promotion for pinners and creators:

Integrate links into all Pins. It's simple, yet many crafters overlook this. Pinterest strongly recommends users to add links to all images, videos, and Pinterest TV livestreams to drive the audience to their product.

Post-publish editing: Users can craft Pins, resizing images, and editing Pin elements after publishing, including text, links, and titles. Visual user-friendliness is a key aspect of successful product promotion.

Track performance metrics: All video Pins now have expanded statistics, providing a comprehensive set of analytics for further optimizing brand promotion strategies.

These changes are expected to lead to even greater content diversity and create an appealing ecosystem for Pinterest authors and users.

External links have appeared in Telegram Ads.

Now, in Telegram Ads, you can direct your audience to a website, social media, video, article, or any other source through an advertisement directly.

What is known?

  • When creating ads for external links, you still need to specify a channel. If there is a link in the ad's text, the URL of the channel is ignored, and the "Open website" button is displayed, which contains the link from the text.
  • Links open in your device's browser, not in the WebApp application.
  • No additional metrics have been added to track link clicks.
  • Link shorteners cannot be used at the moment.

Types of Web Hosting

There are several types of hosting, and choosing the most suitable one depends on your needs and requirements for your website. Here are some of the main types of hosting:

Shared Hosting: In this type of hosting, your website is hosted on a server that is shared with other websites. It is an affordable option but may have limitations in terms of resources and performance.

Virtual Private Server (VPS) Hosting: VPS hosting provides a virtual private server dedicated to your website. It offers more control, flexibility, and resources compared to shared hosting.

How to reduce CPM in Facebook?

High bidding for impressions on Facebook is what many arbitrageurs struggle with. This applies to both beginners and seasoned webmasters. The reason is that Facebook's CPM (Cost Per Mille) depends on several factors that are challenging to account for:

- Niche and GEO competitiveness: For instance, the more people advertising on dating sites in Chile at a given time, the higher the advertising costs will be.
- Placement bidding: Each ad placement operates on its own auction, affecting costs.
- Date and seasonality: CPM might be significantly higher when running betting ads just before a major football championship compared to other days.
- Audience reach: The broader the chosen target audience, the lower the bidding costs.

There are also aspects that have little impact on the bidding costs, but for some reason, they are constantly discussed in arbitrage communities.

Norway has banned advertising on Instagram and FB

Facebook and Instagram are now prohibited from tracking users in Norway for ad targeting purposes.

In fact:The Norwegian Data Protection Authority has ordered the American company Meta (formerly Facebook) to stop showing personalized ads to Norwegian users based on their activity and approximate location.

What's next:The ban will take effect on August 4 and will last for three months. The ban may be lifted earlier if Meta finds a way to lawfully process users' personal data and grants them the right to opt-out of ad tracking. On July 4, the Court of Justice of the European Union ruled that Meta unlawfully collected people's data for advertising purposes without their explicit consent.

Additionally, on July 5, Canada suspended advertising on Facebook and Instagram. It all started with a Canadian law requiring internet giants to pay for news content. In response, Meta simply threatened to block access to news on its social media platforms in Canada.

What is hosting

Hosting refers to the service provided by a hosting company or provider that allows individuals or organizations to make their website accessible on the internet. It involves storing all the files and data related to a website on a server, which is a specialized computer designed to handle website-related tasks.

When you purchase hosting services, you essentially rent space on a server to store your website's files, including HTML, CSS, images, videos, and databases. The hosting provider ensures that your website is available and accessible to visitors whenever they enter your domain name or click on a link to your site.

Hosting providers offer different types of hosting plans, including shared hosting, virtual private servers (VPS), dedicated servers, and cloud hosting. Each type has its own features, performance levels, and pricing options, allowing website owners to choose the most suitable option based on their needs and budget.

In addition to storing website files, hosting services often include features like email accounts, domain registration, website builders, security measures, and technical support. These features vary depending on the hosting provider and the specific hosting plan you choose.

Overall, hosting is a crucial aspect of running a website as it ensures that your site is accessible to internet users around the world.

With so many networks available today, establishing your presence across all of them may seem overwhelming. Below, we’ve compared the most popular social media platforms for businesses to help you understand their target audiences, popular types of content, and other distinctive features.

Part 1. Campaign Goals

When choosing the right social media platform for your business, check whether it will allow you to reach your campaign objectives most efficiently.

Facebook is a leading social network with over 2.7 billion users. Due to this enormous reach, Facebook offers great conditions to build relationships with your audience and attract new customers. Many brands register on the platform to provide their followers with space to interact and ask questions.

Facebook also offers advanced advertising via targeting by age, gender, job, hobbies, behaviors, and more. Powerful analytic tools will help you stay on top of your advertising campaigns, but you’ll need some marketing budget to start off.

Instagram is perfect for generating leads and building relationships. By consistently sharing visual content, you’ll grow brand recognition and build a following. As Instagram is owned by Facebook, it provides marketers with access to an extensive database of users and advertising possibilities.

YouTube allows marketers to create brand awareness and educate their followers. Video tutorials and how-to guides can help drive conversions and allow you to connect with your followers as well as demonstrate the benefits of your products and back up written content. YouTube is owned by Google, has access to its advertising platform, and allows for increasing outreach through search optimization.

TikTok is a relatively new app, but is already considered one of the best social networks for business. It isn’t as saturated as other platforms, thus offering a lot of room for new businesses. However, TikTok is constantly changing its policy regarding affiliate links and its advertising options are rather limited. TikTok is perfect for younger audiences and for creating brand recognition.

LinkedIn is great for business development and networking. It provides perfect conditions for recruiting talent, finding business partners as well as B2B customers. Make sure to create a LinkedIn business page to expand your professional network, share business-related content, and establish niche authority. The platform also has advertising opportunities to promote content, send ads to inboxes, or place them in the sidebar.

Twitter is often used for building public relations. Brands leverage the network to share news and articles, so make sure to build a presence on Twitter if you want to establish authority as a “thought leader” within your niche. Twitter is also the right place to connect with your clients, as advertisers report that over 80% of their customer service requests happen here. Finally, the hashtag feature helps find potential customers who are looking for a specific product.

Pinterest has a lot of potential for driving traffic and lead generation, as 90% of users come to the platform to find inspiration for future purchases. Marketers can easily increase their organic reach with relevant keywords at no extra cost. Ads here are less advanced and expensive than on Facebook and Twitter.

Snapchat can be used for sharing real-time updates or behind-the-scenes pictures, creating an image for your brand, or reaching new customers. “Self-destructing” snaps prompt users to act fast, so they’re great for boosting engagement. Marketers can also leverage Snapchat’s powerful ads, which garner 1.5 times more visual attention than Instagram and twice that of Facebook.

If the choice is difficult to make and you still have doubts about which affiliate sites and which GEOs will bring more profit, ask your affiliate manager.
